ROYAL AMBASSADOR MINISTRY -- BETHLEHEM STAR CHAPTER

The Royal Ambassadors take their name from the motto, “We are Ambassadors for Christ,” based on 2 Cor. 5:20. RAs is a SBC mission educational group for boys in grades 1-6. It seeks to build biblical character in boys through mission involvement and virtue commitments. Since its beginning in 1908, RA ministries have helped boys to grow spiritually, physically, mentally, and in relationships with others. The basic purpose of the RAs is found in the RA Pledge. Building character into the lives of men and boys is what RAs is all about.
RAs learn biblical virtues such as loyalty, friendship, courage, responsibility, honesty, faith, compassion, perseverance, teamwork, and self-discipline. They also learn about God’s mission, participate in the on-mission activities, pray for and give to missions, develop and use mission skills, and learn about and support the mission work of their church. RAs prepare boys to answer God’s call, tell his story and change their world.
This ministry is part of a church-wide Acts 1:8 challenge to reach our community, state, nation, and the world for Christ. To obtain this will require men of character, men of commitment—Royal Ambassadors.
All boys in grades one through six are encouraged to join Royal Ambassadors. Men are needed to be the leaders, to undergo training, and be willing to commit
their time, talents, and energy to investing in the lives of our youth.
The RA Program is not a new program for students at BBC, but one that has been absent for some time. Many members can remember being active RA members and can testify to the meaningful impact it had on their lives. The program is to be offered on Sunday nights, 5:00 – 6:00 PM. BBC will have its own RA chapter with a meeting room, banners, vests, activities, and workbooks. Several adult leaders have come forward to volunteer their time in working with our youth, but there is room for more. A kids roundup is scheduled for September 14, 5:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall to introduce the program to parents and students. There will be a registration table for parents and students to sign-up for the program.  Call the Church Office/Bro. Neil/Mr. Steve Betsill for more information.

CAMP-OUT ACTIVITY PLANNED

The RAs will be taking a camp out to the Vineyard in Ariton Friday, Nov. 14-15, 3:30 PM.  All interested boys and dads should contact Steve Betsill at 726-5880 or the church office, Neil Dodson.  The boys and leaders have been preparing for this event and are getting excited.  The first event the boys had this fall was a trip to see the Troy State U. football team in action on a Saturday. Everyone had a big time.
